5th Grade – Save the Dates!!!
Please mark your calendars! Our 5th graders have many events and service opportunities over the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for sign-ups and details in the Lincletter and 5th grade blasts.  Due to restrictions, some of the events have limited enrollment. If a sign-up or a shift is full, we hope students will take advantage of other 5th grade activities throughout the spring.
March 5th – GURO Work Day at the Greater Boston Food Bank  
**Sign-up limited to 25 students
Timing: 11:30am to 2:45pm
On this early release day, parent chaperones from the GURO committee will take students from school to the GBFB for a volunteer project.
March 5,6,7 – 5th Grade hosts Lincoln Conference Babysitting
Open to all 5th graders
Timing: 11:30am to 3:00pm
On these three early release days, 5th grade students and parent volunteers host babysitting services for parents on-site for conferences.
March 26th – GURO Soup Making at Parish of the Epiphany
**Sign-up limited to 20 students
Timing: 3:00-4:00 pm
Students and parent volunteers will make chicken noodle soup in the Epiphany kitchen for the Empty Bowl Banquet.

March 27th – Empty Bowl Banquet at Lincoln 
5th grade students, their families and faculty are invited to attend
Timing: 6:00-7:30pm
GURO sponsored event to highlight the Hunger program, raise funds for No Kid Hungry and showcase the 5th grade and faculty pottery project.
April 3rd – Pizza & Bingo Night at Lincoln 
Hosted by 5th grade for all Lincoln families
Timing: 5:30-7:00pm
Student and parent volunteers host a fun-filled family evening for the entire school community to raise funds for 5th grade events.

April 10th – GURO Work Day at Wright-Locke Farm
Open to all 5th grade students
Timing: 1:00pm – 3:00pm
On this early release day, under the guidance of farm educators and parent volunteers, students will tour and participate in farm chores.
April 14th – 5th Grade Social Transition Night for Parents
Open to all 5th grade parents
Timing: 7:00pm at the Next Door Theatre
This annual event provides all Winchester’s 5th grade parents with non-curricular information about the middle school experience in terms of social life and social culture at McCall.
