Book Talk Canceled, plus Two More Important Notes

October 23, 2012

From the Superintendents’ Office:

 Book Talk Canceled:

The program scheduled for tonight, October 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at the McCall Auditorium has been canceled.  Ms. Brooks fell off a horse yesterday and is unable to

travel.  We apologize for any inconvenience!

Two more important notes:

1.  Redistricting:  Superintendents’ Recommendation:

The Superintendent will present his recommendation for redistricting to the School Committee tonight.  The meeting will be held at 7:00 at the WHS Auditorium.  It will also be shown and streamed live on WinCam.

2.  Race to Nowhere Screening:

Wednesday, October 24, 7:30 p.m.

McCall Auditorium

Cost: $10

If you missed the premiere in Winchester three years ago, now’s your chance to see what everyone was talking about.  Race to Nowhere gives our kids the microphone and what they tell us is astonishing.  Excessive stress.  Rampant cheating.  Studying for the “A” rather than the knowledge.  Don’t miss this up-close and eye-opening look at how our children respond to the stress of always being the best.  After the movie, participate in a facilitator-led Q&A session.
